The challenge
Within the Managed Security & Privacy Office, Northwave (C)ISOs work with large volumes of security and privacy information from multiple sources. This includes policies, risk assessments, penetration test reports, compliance documentation, and outputs from security tooling.
Manually consolidating and interpreting this information was time-consuming and made it difficult to maintain a continuously up-to-date view of risks and controls. MSPO (C)ISOs spent significant time on filtering, interpreting and translating data into roadmaps, risk treatment plans and advice. Although these were essential activities, the value recognized by their customers was overwhelmingly centered around personal interaction and guidance. As the MSPO scaled, Northwave needed a way to reduce operational effort without reducing advisory quality.
The approach with Clember
Northwave integrated Clember into its Managed Security & Privacy Office as a central platform for structuring, analysing, and maintaining security and privacy information.
